Argentina’s Lionel Messi and the U.S.’s Carli Lloyd were named the world’s top soccer players for 2015 on Monday evening in Zurich, reclaiming the awards for their countries.
Messi, 28, who plays for FC Barcelona, won the Ballon d’Or for the top male player, beating out Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal/Real Madrid CF) and Neymar (Brazil/FC Barcelona). He also won the award in 2010, 2011 and 2012 before Ronaldo won it twice.
